On October 12th, Morro Bay will face Pioneer Valley in the Homecoming Game. Morro Bay’s record stands at 1-6 while Pioneer Valley sits at 4-3. Pioneer Valley recently defeated San Luis Obispo High School, who currently has a record of 5-2.
With Morro Bay’s current record, they are expected to face difficulty. According to the website MaxPreps, Pioneer Valley receiver, running back, and defensive back Michael Bourbon averages 8.5 yards per carry, 82.2 yards per game, and has 493 yards on the season, which is significantly higher than the national average.
As the Homecoming Game, this is expected to bring a larger amount of the student population than past games. “Bigger games like these can bring up to a 1000 people” states MBHS football coach David Kelley.
Football fans will also witness the Homecoming Parade during halftime and the Ribbon Cutting ceremony for the new track at 6:30. The JV game starts at 4:00 and Varsity game starts at 7:00.
