California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) playoffs are starting to come up and a handful of MBHS sports teams were able to make it. Boys and Girls Water Polo, Girls Volleyball, Girls Tennis, and Cross Country are all of the sports who made the cut. For Girls Water Polo and Boys Water Polo, this was a landmark event as the first win of the league in Morro Bay High School history.

Boys Water Polo went 24-6 on the season, never lost a league game, and won their league. Girls Water Polo also won their respective leagues.

Girls Water Polo Coach Silva had a few things to say about his team. When asked about winning the league, he said, “It was fantastic. It was a wonderful reward for all of our very deserving players.” After being asked about his hopes going into the playoffs, “We just want to go as far as possible into the playoffs, and after winning the league championship game, we have very high expectations. We just need to stay focused and competitive in order to achieve our goals.”  According to Silva, all 20 varsity players will be going on to the CIF playoffs.
