We had another successful week of soccer, with both the Boys and Girls winning their games. The Morro Bay Boys varsity soccer team won Friday’s away conference game against Nipomo by a score of 2-1. The Morro Bay Girls varsity soccer team won Friday’s away conference game against Mission Prep by a score of 4-1. The Boys team had a player of the game being Fabian Garcia, but the Girls were not given a player of the game.
The Boys played an outstanding game, edging out Nipomo 2-1. They played great on defense, only allowing one goal. Their offense also played spectaular, scoring two goals of their own. Fabian Garcia played a good game, being named the player of the game. MaxPreps.com had this to say about Fabian in their ¨oaches Comments¨”section, ¨Scored 2 goals and played out of his mind all game. Making the right decisions on where to be and where to place the ball. All around outstanding performance.¨ Fabian has ten points this season and 5 goals. The Boys record improves to 9-12-1. Their next game is against St. Joeseph.
The Girls blew out Mission Prep 4-1 this week in an away game. A mixture of great defense and offense gave the girls another win this season. Only allowing one goal is tough, but it is harder in an away game against our longtime rivals, and the same goes for scoring four goals in one game against our rivals in an away game. The Girls record improves to 6-9. Their next game is against Nipomo.
