The Morro Bay High School Pirates played their highly anticipated first game on August 23. Students who showed up with their Crew wristbands would earn points for their Crew, which reeled in a lot of people. This was also Jake Goosen-Brown’s first game as head coach of the Pirates. In this game, the Pirates were up against Rio Hondo Prep in a non-conference game.

By halftime, the score was 30-0, with Rio Hondo Prep in the lead, but the Pirates were still fighting. Although the Pirates were not able to score in the game, they held Rio Hondo Prep to only seven points in the second half. The final score of the game was 37-0, with Rio Hondo Prep coming out on top.

In next week’s game, Morro Bay will be up against Lindsey, which will be a home non-conference game.
