Varsity Football Wins Against Tranquillity HS

Morro Bay High School had a game against Tranquillity last Friday on September 6th. It was an away game played in Tranquillity, CA.

Varsity won the game by five points with a 19-14 victory. Some standout players were Dylan Turner, Frankie Woulbraun, Kevin Franco, Orion Solu, and Rafael Aguilar. The MBHS defense held Tranquillity to 14 points in the first half and didn’t let them score for the rest of the game. The offense scored 12 points in the first half and scored 7 more in the third quarter to put them in the lead and win the game.

The JV team played first and lost the game by two points with a score of 8-6. Morro Bay scored first getting a touchdown to get the lead, but they missed the extra point, so the score was 6-0. Later on, Tranquillity scored a touchdown to tie the game at 6-6. Tranquillity went for a two-point conversion to give them a two-point lead. According to JV player Hunter Whitson, he said, “The quarterback ran to the endzone, but never crossed the goal line, so it should not have counted, but the refs called it as a two-point conversion, and they got the lead. I never realized they had the lead until the 4th quarter because I thought they did not get into the endzone.”

Next week, Morro Bay will be up against the Gustine Reds in an away, non-conference game on Friday, September 13 at 7:30 P.M.
