Girls Wrestling Fights Through Tournament

The Girls Wrestling Team at Morro Bay High School just had a CCAA League Finals Tournament on February 5 at 3:00 P.M It was at Nipomo High School. This tournament is important because it was part of their league progression.

The team overall got fourth in the tournament. As of right now the team is 9th in the league. This league has a hundred plus schools and our team is in the top 10%. Rylee Blackham a freshman on the Girls Wrestling team stated, “In this tournament almost 80% of the team got a medal.” Sara Sterner and Hazel Sunnarborg both got first place in their division!

The girls have there CIF State Championship Tournaments in Bakersfield at the Rabobank Arena. This will be February 27-29 at 9:00 A.M. This Championship will be their very last event so hopefully they learned from this tournament and feel prepared leading up to this Championship.
