Most video games that have been released this month so far haven’t been very substantial, apart from the exceptions of Splatoon 3 as well as the remake of The Last of Us part 1. October seems to be following this trend, having a few major releases among many minor ones. Three stand-out releases in the month of October are Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Overwatch 2, and Gotham Knights. I am personally very excited for Overwatch 2 because of the new characters that are being added. If you are a fan of games or gaming, these three titles are sure to interest you.

Overwatch 2

Release Date: October 4th

Platforms: PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch

Price: Free

Overwatch 2 is a first-person team shooter game and will release on October 4th. Developer Blizzard Entertainment has stated that it will completely replace 2016’s Overwatch, however, any progress made in Overwatch will transfer to Overwatch 2. This means that all characters from the original game will be playable in Overwatch 2. Players of the first game will be well acquainted with the gameplay of its sequel since not much has changed between games. Many small changes are being made for the convenience of the player, and to work with the free-to-play nature of the game. A battle pass system is being introduced, where players will have to work towards acquiring cosmetics as well as new characters, which won’t be available to everyone right away anymore. A player versus environment campaign will have the player put up against hoards of AI robots, and will be launched together with the standard player versus player mode. Overall Overwatch 2 is expected to be a promising evolution of the beloved Overwatch.

Gotham Knights
