“It was a hoax. It’s all been a big hoax. It’s perpetrated by the Democrats and some stupid Republicans and foolish Republicans fall into the net. And so they try and do the Democrats work. The Democrats are good for nothing other than these hoaxes,” Trump told ABC’s Bruce. To understand this quote, we need to go back in time when it all first started.

Jefferey Epstein was an American financier, philanthropist, and teacher, until he was proven guilty as a child sex offender.

Epstein’s story echoes from rags to riches. He came from a middle class family in Brooklyn. Epstein was incredibly smart, skipping two grades and graduating from high school. He then went to Cooper Union college, but dropped out; he attended New York University as well, once again he dropped out. He never graduated with a degree. However, Epstein did get a job at Dalton School, notoriously famous for its wealthy kids that attend it.  After two years of teaching at Dalton, he was fired for his reportedly “poor performance.” According to the New York Times, when they say “poor performance” they refer to his nature in Dalton school. Students described how Epstein would dress inappropriately, he waddled through the halls in fur coats, gold chains, and an open shirt that exposed his chest. Epstein also left flirtatious impressions that sat with many of the teenage girl students at Dalton for decades. He was also seen at parties where students were drinking. Scott Spizer, a former student at Dalton, graduated in 1976, said, “I can remember thinking at the time, ‘This is wrong’.” This was all alleged. The official reason he got fired was for his dress code violations.

According to EBSCO, the first investigation on Epstein, starting in March 2005, began when a mother reported to the police that her 14-year-old daughter had been having sex with a grown man in Palm Beach. This was Epstein, and it happened in his mansion in Palm Beach. This began a 13 month investigation. During the investigation, Epstein hired multiple girls for sexual and other services in his mansion. He would pay the girls hundreds of dollars. With this information, there was a leak in the investigation, so when the police went to Epstein’s mansion with a search warrant, he was gone, and all of the home’s surveillance footage with him too. The place had been cleaned up, and where the surveillance footage computer would’ve been, wires were hanging out of the wall.

As time went on from 2005, Epstein executed more illegal acts. Three years later in 2008, he pleaded guilty to involving himself in the act of procuring minors, children for prostitution, and for soliciting a prostitute. Soon, after a controversial plea deal, he was in prison for 13 months. While he was in prison, he had a work release that allowed him to be at his home excessively.

After the 2008 controversy, things went quiet for some time, until his final arrest in 2019. He was federally charged with the sex trafficking of minors. He was arrested and imprisoned July 6, 2019. On Aug. 10, 2019, he died in his cell. The coroner ruled it being suicide. There’s lots of conspiracies if it was suicide or not.

Now, in 2025, after Trump was elected for his second term, people of all political parties have been begging our president to release the files. They released many different things from the files, but not all of it. One of these things was the release of the CCTV footage of the jail when we suspect Epstein had died. However, this CCTV was not pointing at Epstein’s cell where he died. Scrubbing through all of the footage, about one minute was missing from it. According to CBS,Attorney General Pam Bondi said, “Every night is reset, so every night should have that same missing minute.”

Recently, many of the victims have come together threatening to release their own list of all the powerful predators that still roam around. This threatens our president because he was mentioned in the files, along with former President Clinton. As of Sept. 9, the U.S. House Oversight Committee released the Epstein birthday book, with redactions. The book’s title is “The First Fifty Years” This book allegedly includes poems, photos, letters, and much more, from friends and family, etc, compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell, reported by PBS. This update brought up how our current president, Donald Trump, had a letter that was written by him, with a woman’s torso and a transcript of Epstein and himself talking. The birthday book, “The First Fifty Years,” seems like a peek into what the Epstein files might contain.
