Forget about the Milan runway, the real fashion show is the hallways of Morro Bay High School.
Freshman Pearl Hein said she likes to shop at Brandy Melville, Free People, and Pacsun. Hein said the fashion trend at MBHS is polka dots, Blundstones, and belts. Hein’s favorite shoes are black Sambas. “The white sambas are too basic,” said Hein. Hein enjoys wearing her sambas with black low-rise jeans. Hein’s least favorite fashion trend is black eyeliner. Hein’s top favorite clothing brand is Free People. Hein also loves shopping on Depop. Hein would rather wear baggy jeans than tight fit jeans, although, for tops, she prefers to have tight tops, rather than oversized tops. Hein likes low-rise jeans more than high-rise. Hein’s go-to outfits for school events like dances are dresses with comfortable shoes, such as sambas. But for a football game, Hein would rather wear shorts or jean shorts.
Freshman Nora Bensor says her favorite place to shop is Brandy Melville. “Sandals and belts are the fashion trend at Morro Bay High School,” Bensor says. Bensor’s favorite shoes are Birkenstocks and Uggs. Bensor’s least favorite fashion trend is sweatpants on boys. Bensor likes low-rise pants and jeans more because she says high-rise is kind of ugly. Bensor says for high school football, she likes to wear jeans with a cute shirt and a comfy pair of shoes.
Freshman Vincent Foxe Roberston says he likes to shop online. Roberston’s favorite online store is Uniqlo. Robertson says the main Morro Bay High School fashion trend is Blundstones. “My least favorite fashion trend is sandals with no socks because I don’t like seeing people’s toes,” he said.
Robertson would rather wear oversized clothes, but he enjoys wearing both. To a school event like a football game, Roberston would wear pants and a comfy hoodie. Robertson’s favorite shoes are Birkenstocks because they are comfy and he can wear them with socks.
Freshman Ariella Briscoe’s favorite stores are Hollister and Aeropostal. Briscoe thinks the trend at MBHS is sandals, jean jackets, and tube tops. Briscoe’s least favorite fashion trend is sandals. “It’s ugly and no one wants to see your toes.”
Briscoe’s favorite shoe brand is Adidas, and her favorite shoes are Spezials. Briscoe loves to shop at malls and Target. Briscoe likes oversized clothing better because she likes the way it fits and she likes the way it looks on her. Briscoe likes to wear jeans and a babydoll shirt to a football game. Briscoe would wear a dress to a dance.
