With finals coming up next week, this week prior to them plays a crucial role through the massive amounts of studying students do. Some students might get study guides, and others will go over what they will need to know for finals. Finals are also a very crucial part of the semester because they could affect students’ grades drastically, as they are a big review to see and quiz you on everything you have learned that semester. This can be very stressful, through being quizzed on everything you have learned the past year, or what you have learned or know about the stuff you have been taught.
Finals can be immensely stressful for all students as well as teachers. Finals can be stressful for students because they have to study really hard, because if they fail or don’t do well on it, it can impact their grade a lot. When it comes to teachers, they have to really prepare and make sure their students will do well on finals. Teachers also have to make study guides to go over the old things students have learned, as well as have to use the weeks before finals to help students study so they can get the best possible grade on finals.
Freshman, Giovana Lia said, “Finals are what I have been most nervous about at the end of the semester because I have to study a lot.” explained Lia, “I have been using all my time after school to do any work to prepare for it even though they haven’t given out the study guide or anything yet because if I fail or get a bad score on it my grade will drop alot.” Finals are very stressful, but also extremely important for students.. Freshman Marysol DeSimone said, “ might be nerve racking but as long as you study hard and do all your work you need to do to prepare yourself you should be fine, especially for my english class I have to write an essay but I am given the topics I just have to use my notes and I should be fine.” It seems that some students have different opinions on finals, and some are more nervous or more prepared for them than others. No matter how prepared you are for it, though, you can still be really nervous. One very important thing for finals is not to get stuff done last minute because the work could be wrong, or maybe you didn’t get done all of the stuff you needed to. Also, you might forget about something important if you do it at the last minute. Instead of doing stuff last minute or getting bad scores on stuff, an easy way to avoid this is getting it done or doing it in class, especially if the teacher is going over how to do it or you are doing it as a class, you should also be doing it.
There are multiple ways to increase your chances of getting good scores on finals. For example, study hard, get your study guides, and do any extra work. Things to avoid are skipping class or being tarty, and also going on vacations the week or weeks before finals or during finals because it will really affect your grade. Another thing you shouldn’t do is get everything done at the last minute, including study guides and whatever else you need to do to prepare yourself for finals.
