Stunt Cheer is finally in season – unlike normal cheer, you actually can get P.E. credits for stunt cheer. This can be a great opportunity to get those credits, and you don’t have to have experience, you can just be in stunt, which is pretty amazing because in a lot of sports you either need experience or have to get put on the team. Not stunt cheer, though, which is a great opportunity for freshmen. So definitely, if anyone is interested, it’s a great chance to make friends and learn new skills as well as earn P.E. credits.

A lot of the stunt cheerleaders, probably close to all of them, were in normal cheer, and it seemed like they really loved it. They loved making friends, bonding, and creating lots of new memories that will definitely last a lifetime. Also, a lot of the cheerleaders said it was so much fun, even though it was sometimes a little scary going to the football games, especially at first. T cheerleaders in stunt shows seem pretty excited to create more memories and hang out with their friends, and for the season in general.

One stunt cheerleader, Afina, said, “I’m really excited for stunt cheer because cheer was so much fun, and stunt cheer also counts for P.E. credits, which I really, really need since normal cheer didn’t count. Also I cannot wait to hangout with all my friends since a lot of them are also doing stunts but it’s gonna be way harder than regular cheer.” Afina also said, “I’m most excited to hangout with my friends and learn new stunts but I’m really nervous for the competitions and learning how to do some of the really hard stunts.” Stunt seem pretty fun from what Afina said, but it also seems pretty scary and nerve-racking, especially when it comes to the really difficult stunts and competitions. Also, throwing people in the air or picking people up and having to balance them on your shoulders seems pretty difficult. One more thing Afina said was, “I am probably most of the muscle on the team because I have to have some people go on my shoulders and I have to hold them up, which is kinda hard but isn’t the worst.

Another stunt cheerleader, Hailey Pascua in grade 9, said, “Stunt cheer is hard and also pretty scary sometimes because I’m a flyer, so I have been lifted into the air. Also, I have been dropped multiple times, so it’s hard to trust some people on the team to catch me, but it’s slowly getting better.” Stunt cheer is probably going to be a hard and fun season. Freshmen will be able to try new things or stunts, make even more friends, and compete against other schools. This will be a challenge, but it will definitely be an interesting and fun experience for the freshmen. Also, the competitions against other schools could open up a new door to making new friends as well. All of the cheerleaders are probably really excited for the season and everything it may hold, and the memories and fun times it will bring with it, and to all the people on the team. A lot of people might also be nervous, especially freshmen.
