Lainey Wilson is an American singer and songwriter in the country music genre. Her album, “Whirlwind,” was released in 2024, and it was a big hit. She then decided to make a deluxe version, which has five additional tracks,  which are “Ring Finger,” “Somewhere Over Laredo,” “Devil Don’t Go There,” “Middle Of It,” and “Whiskey Colored Crayon.”

The deluxe album was released on Aug. 23 of 2025. Wilson has been in the country music business for a decade. Her debut album was released in 2014, “Tomboy.” Wilson has gained a lot of listeners since then, and she continues to grow. She is best known for her song, “4x4xU,” which is on the original and deluxe album of “Whirlwind.”

So far, she has only won one Grammy award, but she has been nominated three times. Wilson’s most played song on the deluxe album is “4x4xU,” which is one of her most popular songs, as well as “Watermelon Moonshine” and “Heart Like A Truck.”

In an interview she did with Spotify, she said, “‘Whirlwind’ was written in a time of my life that was spinning 90 miles per hour, it’s the word that I kept hearing and seeing, and saying every time when I was asked to describe the past couple of years.”

“4x4xU” is one of the top songs on the album. It’s all about finding that one person who makes you feel a certain way. She’s talking about how she found a person who makes her do things she normally wouldn’t do or even consider doing.

Her song, “Whirlwind,” on the album is about how fast life goes by and how fast life can seem at times. But it’s also a reminder that you have to live life to its fullest because overwise it’s going to go by fast.

Her other song, “Bell Bottoms Up,” was written about her bar that she owns in downtown Nashville. She and her band wrote this song together, and it’s a very upbeat song. They wrote it on the road at a studio in London, England. The song is about having a good time and going out. Such as going out with your girl friends, letting lose, and leaving all the stress behind.

Another song on the album, “Whiskey Colored Crayon,” is about the dream life. It’s about being young, having dreams and goals for your life. It talks about being in kindergarten, drawing the perfect picture of the perfect life.

This album is generally about love and finding someone; it’s also about timing. How fast and how sometimes life just keeps going. Wilson’s songs are passionate and have a story to tell. She likes to incorporate a story and a feeling to make the listeners feel some type of way.

This album is heartfelt and rooted in the country genre’s tradition. She has a lot of different types of songs on this album, ranging from love songs to sad songs. This album is mixed with a bunch of different emotions and stories. This album, overall, is a heartfelt, summer, country album.
