Abbie Leitner-Woolf

Abbie Leitner-Woolf, News Section Editor

Abbie Leitner-Woolf, a senior at Morro Bay High School, is involved in multiple extracurricular activities, such as Drama Club stage crew, as well as the tennis captain. Leitner-Woolf has played tennis her whole life, really getting into it in eighth grade, though she hasn’t played for Morro Bay all four years. Throughout Leitner-Woolf’s high school career, she has moved nine times and been enrolled in seven different high schools, at one point moving as far as South Lake Tahoe. She’s lived in Templeton, Cambria, Washington, Atascadero, and New Hampshire, to name a few.

Her frequent moves gave her Leitner-Woolf a unique perspective on change; she said, “Change isn’t always erasing what you have, more like just an opportunity to grow on to what you have.” She chose to come back to MBHS because it felt the most home-like of everywhere she’s lived, given that she knows kids from her time at Los Osos Middle School.

During her senior year, Leitner-Woolf wants to have no regrets. She plans to try new things, which could be hard considering her vast list of hobbies. Leitner-Woolf enjoys general beach activities, such as collecting shells, making jewelry, painting with both watercolors and acrylics, and embroidery. Leitner-Woolf is also musically talented; she’s played violin since she was in kindergarten and learned piano in the music production class at MBHS. Last, but not least, she’s a talented writer. She is fond of poetry and other types of writing, which is partially why she joined Journalism.

Despite the class not being her first choice, she is excited for it, “It sounded interesting, and it’s something I’ve never done before, and an opportunity to get more involved on campus,”  said Leitner-Woolf. She’s interested in conducting interviews and writing articles for the Campus Life section.
