Harper Wingett-Wilson, Writer
Harper Wingett-Wilson is a freshman at Morro Bay High School, and she lives in San Luis Obispo. Wingett-Wilson plays tennis on the junior varsity team, and she has been playing tennis for around 2 years. She likes to practice and sharpen her form during her spare time, and she finds joy in playing a lot of tennis. “I think it is really fun and I like to be competitive,” Wingett-Wilson said.
Over the summer, Wingett-Wilson enjoyed going on camping trips and finding peace in nature. This summer, Wingett-Wilson went on a few camping trips, including one trip to Santa Barbara. In her free time, Wingett-Wilson enjoys reading, and she even read over half of the Harry Potter series throughout the summer. Her favorite genre of books to read is all kinds of fiction; however, she takes pleasure in reading all of the genres other than non-fiction. In school, she is looking forward to reading as well. In her English class this year, she is looking forward to reading more as well, “We’re reading ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ and I am excited,” Wingett-Wilson said.
She has one cat, and his name is Charlie, and he is a black cat. Charlie is less than a year old, and Wingett-Wilson describes him as “cute and really nice.” Wingett-Wilson said, “I chose journalism because I like to write,”. Wingett-Wilson loves to write because she can think freely and write what comes to her mind, and be creative. In the upcoming school year, she is looking forward to putting her love for writing to use in journalism.
