Jamie Hendel-De La O, Opinion + Arts & Media Section Editor
Jamie Hendel-De La O is a senior at Morro Bay High School. She is 17 years old, not quite 18, she will turn 18 at the end of her senior year, near spring break. Hendel De-La O decided to take Journalism because she wanted the opportunity to interview people, write articles, and especially write opinion articles. There are a few classes she is really excited for, one of which is AP Government. Hendel-De La O said, “I’m picking AP Gov, which is really hard, but it’s really fun.” She is also excited about her AP African American Studies history class because she wanted to try out and experience new classes. Hendel -De La O isn’t involved in any sports but likes soccer, track and field, and hockey. Instead of being involved in sports, she is more involved in school, so she can try to get into the college of her choice.
Hendel-De La O has a few goals she’s hoping to accomplish in her senior year. For example, getting all her college applications in on time. Hopefully, this will get her into California State University Long Beach to study history, “I’m looking to volunteer in the history field,” said Hendel-De La O.
When Hendel-De La O is not at school, one of her hobbies is cooking. She likes to cook many fun and delicious dishes in her free time. She also loves to read and draw, and looks forward to getting to more books on her list. Hendel-De La O also has one sibling, her brother, who is a sophomore at California State University, Fullerton. She also has a dog at home named Rosanna, which Hendel-De La O loves to see and cuddle with when she gets home from school and other activities.
Hopefully, Hendel-De La O gets into the school of her choice, gets to finish her senior year on a high note, and can continue her hobbies and favorite subjects outside of high school into college. With her love of history, Hendel-De La O hopes to stay present in her senior year as she sets her goals for outside of MBHS.
