Starbucks Valentines Day Menu Catches the Attention of MBHS Students

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Starbucks has once again updated its menu and stores with seasonal drinks, threats and colorful merchandise. This year, Starbucks has joined together both sweet flavors and colorful decorations to create an exciting atmosphere that has already caught MBHS students’ attention. 

The winter merchandise collection features some limited edition items that are ideal for the holiday: a black ceramic mug with a large red heart design, a Valentine’s Day glass cold cup, and another reusable cold cup adorned with a pink and red heart design.

Of course, the most exciting part of this year is the new drink menu. Starbucks has released several unique flavor combinations: the strawberry shortcake frappuccino, white chocolate strawberry cold brew, iced banana bread matcha, iced double berry matcha, iced Dubai chocolate matcha, and iced Dubai chocolate mocha. As a snack, another new item is the Valentine’s cake pop.

Senior Ashley Beltrama has tried the iced double berry matcha and felt that it was fruity as well as “fresh and not overly sweet,” Shared Beltrama. Beltrama also mentioned that the pink color of the drink made it fitting for valentines day. 

Alana Shields selected the strawberry shortcake frappuccino and described it as “like a dessert in a cup,” containing a creamy texture and a strong strawberry flavor. Shields states that she would certainly buy this drink again, especially after school, as a fun drink. 

It appears that the seasonal menu offers students something beyond just new flavors; it provides a fun and social experience. After school or during lunch, many students take their time and visit Starbucks together to sample different beverages and have a fun time together. 

While enjoying their beverages together, students can easily create a feeling of festivity with their coffee purchase by ordering items such as beverages, themed cups, and sweet treats from Starbucks’ Valentines day menu- thereby confirming that Starbucks seasonal offerings are an effective way to transform simple coffee shopping into something celebratory.
