The Empire of the Sun Sound concert was on Sept. 28, 2025. The concert was at the Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbra, California. The show was a part of their “Ask That God” tour. The setlist for this concert was mainly his most popular songs. Some of the songs they played were “Changes,” “We Are the People,” “Alive,” and “Walking on a Dream.” After that they played in California at the Santa Barbara Bowl and San Diego CRSSD festival where they are going to Texas. This is the only tour they are doing, and it has been happening since 2024, and it’s going until 2026.

Empire of the Sun brought out Roi Turbo as the special guest. Roi Turbo is a London-based electronic duo formed by two brothers. Their names are Benjamin and Conor McCarthy. They are from South Africa. Most people that listen to them are fans of South African disco and electronic funk. They used to listen to African disco in the 70s and 80s and got inspired to make their own. Empire of the Sun consists of an electronic pop duo, Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore. They became popular around 2008 with the release of their album “Walking on A Dream.” They won album of the year at the ARIA which stands for The Australian Recording Industry Association Music Award album awards. They had global reach by 2010 while they made it through the UK and the US. In 2016, their song “Walking on a Dream” went viral on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. It was huge and even in a Honda Civic commercial. The openers for them were Bishop Briggs, Judah, and Soul Majestic. Empire of the Sun’s biggest song is with Mac Miller and it’s called “The Spins.” The biggest openers for Empire of the Sun are Roi Turbo, they are known as the electronic duo. Sumner and Crooked Colours are big openers for him as well.
The crowd was very hyped as they sang and danced the whole night. Their concerts are very energetic and visually stunning. At the concert they were wearing creative costumes and all their lighting at the show was very good. A lot of people that were at the concert said that they liked listening to “We Are the People.” They also played songs such as “Ice on the Dune” and “Alive.” Empire of the Sun fans are normally interested in electric pop and indie pop so at the concerts they try to make it very tech with their lights and backgrounds while they are singing.
