Starbucks has recently launched several new drinks with mango as the main flavor, and the new flavors have already gotten a lot of attention. The menu includes new mango refresher, mango matcha, mango cold foam, and energy refresher. Many of the drinks are made for spring and summer, with fresher flavors. The new options are particularly suitable for students who want something cold, sweet, and refreshing after school.

Starbucks often focuses on seasonal menus, and many customers like to test new flavors when they come. Several students at school have already managed to try new mango drinks. Sophomore Trilby Grafton had tried the refresher with coconut milk and  mango cold foam. “It’s really good,” Grafton said about the new mango cold foam. She also said that she almost always chooses refreshers over coffee when she’s at Starbucks. The new drink that sounds most exciting to her is the Mango Dream Cloud Refresher. “Because I love mango and like to mix it with peach syrup, that sounds really good,” Grafton said. If she could make her own Starbucks drink, she would choose something inspired by a piña colada, “with coconut milk, and make it blended so it’s almost like a smoothie,” she said.

Senior Eliana Bellenzier had also tried the new mango refresher and liked the taste, although she thought it was quite sweet. “It’s very good, it’s very sweet though. I don’t know if I love that, but it’s good, not too much either,” said Bellenzier. Although she usually prefers coffee instead of fruit drinks, she thought the refresher was a good addition to the menu. She also thought that mango was a good fit as a Starbucks flavor for a very simple reason: “Yes, I think it’s good because it’s yellow, and I like yellow,” said Bellenzier.

Freshman Hailey Pascua also described the new mango drinks as perfect for the summer. “So good, citrus and delicious,” Pascua said of the new drink. She particularly liked the mango cold foam, describing it as light and fresh. “It was so refreshing, citrusy, just like it melts in my mouth,” said Pascua. For her, the refresher was the most interesting of the new drinks. “The refresher, it’s refreshing on a summer day,” Pascua explained. Although Pascua usually sticks to her regular order, a chai latte, she thought the new flavor was worth trying. If she could make her own Starbucks drink, she would choose a sweeter coffee variety. “It would be a caramel vanilla latte with cold foam, caramel drizzle, and caramel crunch,” Pascua said.

The new mango drinks show that Starbucks is continuing to focus on fresh and sweet seasonal flavours that are made more in line with spring and summer. While some are still sticking to their regular favorites, it seems like the new mango flavors have already become a popular part of the menu. And for many people, it’s not only about the taste, but also about trying something new when the seasonal menu changes.
