Arsenal and Chelsea have a long history of playing against each other, especially because many people love watching their games. These two intense teams began their rivalry in the late 1990s. In the 2002 FA Cup finals, Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-0, and they also took the Premier League’s top scorer that year; his name was Thierry Henry. Chelsea defeated Arsenal 4-1 in the first-ever European final between two London clubs in the 2019 Europa League final. Arsenal has the most wins against Chelsea. In the Premier League last year, Arsenal had five wins and zero losses against Chelsea. According to Arsenal’s website, they say their best player ever is Thierry Henry, and according to Sports Illustrated, they say John Terry is the best player to be on Chelsea.
On Nov. 30, 2025, a big match went down. Arsenal played one of their biggest rivals, Chelsea. For soccer fans, this was a huge match to watch because both teams have always placed very high in the Premier League. The final score was tied with one goal for each team.
In the first half, Chelsea dominated with their possession, making Arsenal struggle to possess the ball. Although Chelsea was doing very well, the game had changed in the 38th minute with Mikel Merino taking a heavy tackle from Moises Caicedo, which led to Caicedo receiving a red card. Chelsea was down a man but still maintained possession in the first half. Chelsea’s high press and defending skills were working very well.

Right after halftime, Chelsea was determined to get a goal. Reece James took a very good corner, leading to Trevoh Chalobah heading the ball perfectly into the back of the net. Before the goal, Chelsea had eight shots on goal. Granochu came in for Estavao at half, and Liam Delap came in at the 54th minute for Joao Pedro.
Even after having one man down, Chelsea still managed to keep their defensive game up and only managed to get scored on one time. Each team had a total of three corners. There were seven fouls for Chelsea and only six for Arsenal. Chelsea had more counterattacks with 11 shots, with only five on target, and Arsenal had eight shots with five on target. Arsenal had six yellow cards, and Chelsea had one. While on their attack, Arsenal had three offsides and Chelsea only had one.
To tie the game, Mikel Merino scored one goal in the 59th minute. The assist came from Bukayo Saka. Arsenal was still struggling to press the ball, but managed to get more possession in the second half. After this intense match, Chelsea moved on to their Wednesday match to play Brentford.
